Photo Wall Inspiration

I've recently been thinking about how I want to redecorate my room and yesterday I started painting. I'm going to have white walls, a white wooden bed and a really long desk where I can study but also do my artwork. One thing that I have been dying to have in my bedroom is a photo wall. I started off just thinking about doing a collage but now I've decided to to buy loads of different sized white frames and display the pictures in them. I got my inspiration from a blog I follow on Tumblr (www.coachela.tumblr.com)

I've got most of my pictures from websites such as tumblr and pinterest; here are a few that I'm considering to us :)

I've got loads more and I'm still looking, cant wait to see it when I'm finished :D The photo wall will be right above my desk so that they can give me inspiration whilst I'm drawing or painting or whatever.

Style Crush- Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung is a British model and presenter and I absolutely adore her style. While uploading pictures of what I consider some of her best outfits, I realised that they all used a similar colour palette; beige, yellow, white and black. While some may say that she should branch out use colour more often, I kind of admire her for knowing what suits her and what she likes. Even though Chung sticks to what she knows she also does take some fashion risks for example when she wore Valentino Couture at GQ Men of the Year Awards.

I would describe Alexa Chung's style as girly, feminine and fashion forward without being boring and following trends. If I could steal anyone's wardrobe- it would be hers and if I ever do become a fashion designer, she's the girl that I'd have in mind whilst designing. Here are some of my favourite outfits that she's worn.

Fall Couture- Alexis Mabille

Designers such as Chanel and Elie Saab have been getting lots of love for their Autumn/ Winter 2013/2014 collections so I decided to write about a designer who I personally love but is not as well known as some larger fashion houses.
Alexis Mabille is a French designer who studied at Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Pariesienne and then worked at Dior where then-creative director, John Galliano, noticed his talent. Since then Mabille launched his own namesake label in 2005 and showed at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week for the first time in 2008.
His Fall Couture show was inspired by the 19th century, it was romantic and ethereal, feminine and poised.

The extravagant designs are coated in pearls, lace and ribbons- everything a girl loves!
Mabille constantly changes the silhouettes, using billowing silks to define curves and give shape.

My Wardrobe- Favourite Items

So I thought I'd do a post that showed you a little more of me and who I am. I went through my wardrobe and chose all my favourite pieces :)

These are a pair of vintage sunglasses that I got from a car boot sale for about £2 I think.

I also bought this skirt from river island at a boot sale for only £2.50- bargain! I love shopping at car boot sales because you can find a mix of vintage, designer and high street clothes for super cheap prices.

This is my absolute favourite coat ever. Although I can't wear it with loads of outfits since the colour is really bold, I love it so much. It's got a really cute peplum around the waist and a Peter pan collar. I got it from Topshop about 2 years ago.

This rucksack is also from Topshop. I remember when I first saw it; it was love at first sight. The great thing is that because Topshop changes their stock so regularly, I've never actually seen anyone else with this bag!

I really like this skirt, I got it from the H&M sale for £10, down from about £25 I think. I love the lace and colour- its girly but can be dressed up or down really easily.

My JuJu jelly sandals are my most treasured possessions. I had a pair when I was about 3 years old and now at 15 it's like relieving my childhood. They're so comfortable and only £20 (or £25 if you get ones with a heel). I only have lilac ones at the moment but I also want them in black, pink and clear.

Outfit of the Day- Denim on Denim

Today I went to Westfield shopping centre in Stratford. Since I'm going to be 16 next week, I decided it was time to seriously start look for a job so I printed off about 10 copies of my cv. Out of about 20ish shops only 3 were actually looking :( but Topshop was one of them and that's like my first choice(I'm sure I would've found more but I refuse to work anywhere with an ugly uniform!).

Since I was just applying for jobs in retail stores it was okay to go for a casual look. I usually hate denim on denim but I actually think it looked quite cute with this outfit.

I wore the shorts at I got from a charity last week and my favourite shoes- my lilac jellys.

If you're ever looking for a really girly outfit then Pop Couture is the online store to go to. I actually bought my prom drew from them a few weeks ago and have loved their clothing ever since. Here are my favourite Pop Couture items for under £25.
Floral Skirt- £15

Broderie Anglaise Top- £20

Ivory Panel Dress- £18

Floral Dungarees- £25
Denim Dungarees- £25
I definitely want to get the floral dungarees and that floral skirt is so cute.

Summer Nails!

Now that I have no more school I can paint my nails whatever colour I want :D I recently got a really cute pastel purple nail varnish from accessorise. It was £4, more than I usually spend on nail varnish, but I just couldn't resist the colour.

It's not really a colour that would go with many outfits but I love it and the colour looks really fun and girly.
