Every year Cannes Film Festival is host to glamour, glitz and sparkles, diamonds are in abundance, ball gowns are bigger and the red carpet is full of A-list celebrities.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAOMI!
Naomi Campbell, one of the most recognized and successful supermodels in the world, celebrates her birthday today and with Kate Moss as one of her best friends, you just know she's going to have an AMAZING birthday party. Since I haven't been blessed with an invitation, I'm celebrating by looking back at some of my favourite photographs of her.

Solange Knowles: Style Icon
I'm almost certain that you've heard about Solange Knowles' little... disagreement with Jay-z but instead of focusing on her slightly crazy outburst, I've decided to show you how amazing and daring her outfits are.
Yellow is a colour that solange wears often and I can definitely see why since it looks gorgeous on her skin! I love that she wore this Christopher Kane ensemble exactly how it was shown in the look book and her bold choice to pair it with shiny silver pumps.
THIS is how you wear all white. Sheer or mesh fabrics break up the white creating texture and adds depth to the outfit.
You can also accessorize with bold colours.
Or wear clashing prints to create contrast.
Solange's hair looks perfect here. It's not exactly an every day style but imagine running your hands through it!
Some people love how she dresses, some hate it, but I think it's brilliant how risky some of her outfits are. Sometimes I look at her and just wonder, 'What one earth are you wearing?' It doesn't really matter though, she will always be braver than a lot of use for her ability to wear such clashing prints, bright colours and to managing to follow trends but making them completely her own at the same time.
I just hope Jay-Z is brave enought to face her again and they can sort out whatever the hell happened in the elevator!
Lots of love,
Tiana x

Fashion portfolio
This time next year, I'll hopefully be preparing to study fashion design at Central Saint Martins or La Chambre Syndicale in Paris so I've started working on a few projects for my portfolio. I don't really have much of an idea about what I'm meant to do or put in there but so far this is what I have.
I started off with my research. It was actually harder than I thought it would be to find a specific point of interest as I had so many different ideas to organize. I settled on Ancient China, specifically the artwork made out the time. I did loads of research on the internet, reading books and going to a few galleries.
Next I did some initial ideas, just getting all my ideas out onto paper using colour and my mood boards to create a few designs. I liked the colours in the painting but a lot of them were quite dark and dull; I wanted to make a spring/summer collection so brightened the palette using colours such as:
And then balancing them with white so they're not too overpowering.
Here is the almost final mini collection, I have a few changes to make for example playing with colours on the two outfits with orange skirts so the focus isn't on the same section two outfits in a row. I also might add an out with both the green and the fish pattern on it to create more unity.
What do you guys think?
Lot's of love,
Tiana x

Central Saint Martins Foundation Show
Yesterday I went to the Central Saint Martins Foundation show and I was absolutely amazed by the creative, original, high quality work that I saw.
There was also a section for the fashion students but unfortunately you're not allowed to take pictures in there. The clothes were so unique and different, I felt so inspired and visiting only made me want to study at Central Saint Martins even more.
Here is my outfit from yesterday. I am wearing my new top from Adolescent clothing, which I love btw, my skirt is from Primark and my bag is from River Island

This piece was a part of a triptych all drawn with charcoal. From experience I know how difficult charcoal can be to use and the amount of detail and accuracy in this piece is absolutely incredible. |
This drawing was absolutely humongous. I can't even begin to imagine how long it must have taken to do. |
These hanging horses made out of chicken wire I think, were definitely one of my favourite pieces I saw that day. |
'You can exist forever, If you have your own world.' |
No picture could do the detail in this piece justice. The effort and time it must have taken to complete, just wow. |
This guy has definitely perfected his pout! |
So beautiful <3 |
I don't know what it is but there's something about this photo that is really intriguing. |
