New York Fashion Week

It's fashion week once again but all I can think about is how on earth I'm going to make the final piece for my current art project in about 2 and a half days /: Lets just say I'm going to have some late/early nights at school, yuck.
So to take my mind off of school stresses I wanted to write about some of my favourite collections a nyfw so far.
I usually LOVE the Alexander wang collections and it's not that I didn't like this one! it just didn't blow me away like usual. I found the few looks quite monotonous although I did find the pocket details on the grey coats quite interesting. I thought the latter section of the show a lot more fun and diverse. The outerwear shown the collection was pretty epic, I definitely want one of the bright blue or purple coats!

I would give anything to be wear one of those oversized knit jumpers in the BCBG Max Azria collection right now. Don't they just look so warm and comfy. Although I will never agree with using real fur in clothing, I absolutely love the way the used it, especially the stripes on that black leather top. I wish it was faux...

Unfortunately, Altuzarra also used furs in his AW14 collection but I guess if you're going to kill animals for fashion at least make it look good and he certainly did. That multi coloured plaid fur coat is EPIC. I almost feel like I need it to have a complete life. I thought the collection on the whole was luxuriously simple.

I'm not even going to bother talking about how I hate the use of fur in the Helmut Lang collection. From now on just assume I do. My favourite thing from this show was that gorgeous greyscale print towards the end, it sort of reminded me of melted metal. Oh and that ruffled, cream knit dress is so perfect. The shape, the folds- it literally looks like the fabric spoke to the designers and just became this beautiful creation. And omg were t the shoes beyond amazing!

I can't even expressive how happy I am that one of my favourite brands, Otswald Helgason debut edit heir first runway show this week! Their clothes are humorous and young but the clothes can also be really sophisticated. I found the iridescent purple jeans and t-shirt so alluring. They made the most basic of outfits striking to look at. I wasn't a fan of the uneven skirt and dress hems but I thought the prints were  exquisite.

Christian Siriano will always be one of my favourite project runway winners and it always makes me delighted to see how well he is doing. His AW14 collection had a strong 50s influence, mostly from pictures of Lisa Fonssagrives by Irving Penn. Although this motif may have been a little to evident to create diversity throughout pout the show, the clothes presented were charismatic and very beautiful.

What have been your favourite nyfw so far?
Lots of love,
