London Collections: Menswear

Hentsch Man has definitely figured out he best way to model:smoking cigars and drinking rum flavoured beer (which they were giving out for free and tasted delicious!)

Although it took a while for me to stop staring at the models and actually look at the clothes, I really love this collection and if I was a guy I'd wear every single piece. I loves he fun bright colours and tropical prints, perfect for summer!

Another show that I saw today was Astrid Anderson. Inspired by a trip to Japan, the collection was bold, confident and bright. Traditional Japanese clothing shapes were adopted throughout, particularly from sumo wrestlers clothing and contrasting oranges, pinks and blue created an aesthetically stunning collection.

LCM: Day 3

As LCM comes to a close, the last day of the the shows was definitely a show stopper. Here are some of my favourite collections from today.
Agi and Sam

Sibling
The Sibling collection was a quite unwearable but I do really admire their bold design choices, the people who design for Sibling are clearly talented and creative people. However, I would wear that red jumper with the blue and black fur stripes!

Burberry

Burberry
I absolutely LOVE the Burberry collection. It was the perfect mix of a youthful eclectic style with that classic Britishness that the brand is known for. The prints were just so beautiful. I love how they somehow managed to make a Hawaiian shirt look really cool, I didn't even think that was possible. I hate the idea of fur, but that fur coat is just gorgeous (I really hope it's fake so I don't feel so bad about saying that ahaha).

KTZ
KTZ
I'd never heard of this brand before but I really appreciate how they created a completely monochromatic collection but you could never be bored by it. I love the fur coats and jumpers and the prints are really interesting. I like how the collection is kind of a mix of a futuristic atmosphere with these Aztec prints.

I've never really taken an interest men's fashion but it's been really interesting documenting the London Collections: Men's. All of this fashion week talk has definitely got me excited for London
Fashion Week and I literally cannot wait to go!!!!

Day 2 LCM

J.W Anderson
J.W Anderson
J.W Anderson
I loved the feminine hints throughout the J.W Anderson show. Ruffled blouses, pleated blazers and skin tight sweaters; this collection was definitely made for man who is in touch with and comfortable with his feminine side. I also adore those crazy prints, especially in that two piece suit.

James Long

James Long

The James Long show had this really futuristic, sportswear vibe going on which I thought was really cool. There was so much texture, I just want to touch all of those gorgeous bomber jackets. And I'm not exactly a fan of track suits but that last one is just amazing!

I really liked the out wear in this collection. I thought the cape was really magical, cheesy but it is. You don't usually see capes on men but I like this one. Although I don't agree with fur, that coat with the fur trim is so hot!

Can we just clap for Sarah Burton please. She managed to put together an almost all black, grey and white show but still made it interesting through the use of material, patterns and fabric manipulation such as pleating (I'm seeing a similarity to the J.W Anderson show). The gold and black is such a awesome combination.

Day 1 LCM

Today was the first day of the London Collections: Men's and opening the event was Topman. If I was a guy, my whole wardrobe would be from Topman. They manage to get the perfect mix of smart gentleman with a young unique look. I love how daring they were with colour and those chunky knit jumpers are amazing! There was  also a wide variety of coats; oversized, croppeda no different colours and materials. I literally cannot wait till Autumn when guys can start wear these clothes.

Another designer who showed their collection today was John Smedley, a British designer known for
his knitwear. I think these bright jumpers are so fun and exciting and I really like the geometric prints on them.

Hardy Amies is a luxury mens brand so if you ever want to look really dapper then this is where you
need to shop. I like how they stuck with classic silhouettes but made them a little bolder with bright colours and interesting fabrics.

I love how simplistic the Lee Roach collection was, he stuck to monotone colours and classic shapes which could be seen as boring but I love these basic pieces. Especially that cream coat.

I absolutely love love love the Jonathan Saunders Men's collection. It's full of bright, colourful patterns but still has really classic silhouettes. These are those special clothes that you only have a  few and you can add them to an outfit an instantly make a statement.
