Last Minute Halloween Costume!

It's Halloween and you still don't have an outfit. Yikes... You're cutting it close but don't worry here are some costumes that are easy to make from your everyday clothes and will still look amazing.

1. A Cat
Dress all in black, create a tail out of a pair of tights and some ears out of paper or cardboard and use eyeliner to paint on some whiskers and a cute cat nose.

2. A doll
Wear you cutest, girliest dress, put on really over the top makeup and wear a bow in your hair. Done!

3. A baby
Probably the easiest of all the costumes. All you have to do is wear a baby grow/ onesie and put your hair in bunches. If you have a dummie and baby bottle than use those as well.

4.A hippie
There are so many options for a hippie costume. Your top could be tie-dyed, rainbow printed, floral or anything that is quite loose and faded. For your bottoms you can wear, bell bottom jeans, denim shorts or a long flowy skirt. Boots or sandals are the best footwear to complete your hippie look.

Hope this helped :)

Damon Baker

Damon Baker is one of my favourite photographers ever. My love for him is just unreal. I love the rawness to his photos and how he portrays the people he's working with. I love how he works with lighting; especially in the black and white photographs, emphasizing the shadows and highlights. All pictures are from his Tumblr and I seriously encourage you to look at more of his work :)

Tarte Vintage

Since I'm usually too lazy to go outside of my house to shop, I love discovering cool online stores, especially vintage ones. I found Tarte Vintage a few days ago and I'm in love already, I just had to tell you guys. Tarte Vintage sells vintage dating from the 60s to 90s, which is amazing because let's face it, fashion really became fabulous from the 60s and after. They also sell new clothes which are sourced from independent, up and coming designers.
I could show you so many pictures of all the things I want to buy from Tarte Vintage, basically the whole shop, but miraculously I've managed to narrow my list down to just a few items. Oh and if you're lucky enough to live in Southern California, go check out there shop in Santa Ana.
These sandals are just beyond perfect and they're only £25!
I love their jumper collection, perfect for winter :)
For all of use cat lovers :D
This is a vintage Calvin Klein shirt for only £18. I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE.
What do you guys think of Tarte Vintage?

That scary thing called 'The Future'

So I've been thinking about the future a lot recently; what I want to do with my life and how I'm going to get there. I know I want to be a fashion designer and I know I want to study at Central Saint Martins. I've done a lot of research about the college which to be honest has only made me more nervous... Apparently around 600 students apply every year for the fashion design course and only 50 get a place. Scary, I know.
When applying for an arts course at a university, your portfolio is probably the thing that they mostly take into consideration. I've done a lot of research about fashion portfolios- what to include, how to present them and all of that stuff. Here are some images I found.

What I noticed most was how the designer explored shape, colours, fabrics and patterns all on the same way and also how clearly presented the designs were. I also really liked the use of different medias, especially the collage work with magazine cut outs and fabrics.
When creating a portfolio I think the most important thing is make it original and unique to you. It should be a representation of you as a designer. I know I'm not at Central saint Martins level (yet) but here's a start of my to portfolio.

Ootd: 20/10/13 and 21/10/13

Yesterday I went to my Godmother's house for dinner and oh my goodness I ate so much food I think I'm still full today...
My skirt is from Bershka, I bought my flatforms for £5 at a boot sale and the top is an old pyjama top with a dolphin on it.

Today I went out with my friend Sommer, to the Tate Modern which was fun. We saw a man building an amazingly detailed sandcastle and a saxophone player busking and don't even ask me what we talked about all day because I honestly don't have a clue...
This pose may become a regular since I can't find a suitable place in my house to take a full length picture :s

Oh and the best thing that happened today is I received an email from Central Saint Martins saying that I have a booking for the BA Fashion course open day on Thursday which I am so excited for!

I want to cry because everything at Zara is just so perfect and I can't afford any of it D':

I was just scrolling through the Zara app and it was literally just like perfection was slapping me in the face over and over again. I would happily just live in Zara clothes for the rest of my life. I may not be able to afford their clothes but on the inside I'll always be a Zara girl ;)
Just so many beautiful clothes ugh
